Neat V8 Auto HX Anniversary: resprayed in original colour, original interior and in running condition
The Holden HX of 1976 arrived with a multitude of mechanical changes brought on by new ADR regulations regarding exhaust emissions, and unfortunately coming at the cost of power output and fuel efficiency.
Exterior changes were less significant, most notably distinguished by the grille and badgework, with Premier models receiving a new quad headlight front end.
Engine options included the base 202 inline-six, and the 253 and 308 V8s: coupled to either a three or four-speed manual, three-speed Trimatic or Turbo 400.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of GM Australia: Holden produced 500 HX Kingswood Anniversary models.
They gained colour-coded HJ Premier wheels and were specified similar to the vacationer with bucker seats, venetians, carpets and T-bar automatic.
This 1976 HX Kingswood is described as one of those HX 50th Anniversary models: presenting in good condition with prior restoration and respray in original colour – adding colour-coded bumpers and tail light bezels.
The V8 and automatic transmission are described to be in “very good mechanical order” and the car is said to have always been serviced.
The black-over-cream interior is said to be original and in good condition.
Overall, it may not present 100% original – but it looks to be a clean classic V8 Holden that’s ready to cruise.
The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $21,800 (negotiable).
