1974 Holden Torana – today’s tempter

V8 restomod

According to our buyer guide on the series, “Holden’s V8-engined Torana came to be at a time when parts of the world were turning their back on fuel-guzzling cars. Parts of the world excluding Australia anyway.

“Holden had been working on a V8 version of its mid-sized model since the days of the LC, however the bigger LH provided a more socially-acceptable platform for installation of local 4.2 and 5.0-litre engines.”

This restomod in Sydney is running a 308 stroked to 355, 4-speed Toploader manual and 9-inch diff.

Seats are leather Recaros and sit in a retrimmed interior. It of course is wearing SLR5000 badging with A9X flares and certainly looks the part.

It’s priced at $119,900
