This looks fantastic
The HJ Holden Monaro is the second iteration of the second generation of arguably Australia’s greatest muscle car.
Released in October of 1974, the HJ replaced the outgoing HQ Monaro, and stayed in production until July 1976.
Changes made over its predecessor were, for the most part, cosmetic in nature, and included a newly designed front end that some say resembles an early ‘70s Chevy Monte Carlo.
The Monaro was made available to customers in two body styles; a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan.
Power was derived from a range of motors that included a 3.3lt inline six-cylinder and a 4.2lt and 5.0lt V8.
The shove from the engines was sent to the HJs rear wheels via either a three-speed automatic or a four-speed manual transmission.
This particular HJ Monaro is a ’74 sedan and comes equipped with the 4.2lt bent-eight motor and four-speed manual transmission.
According to the seller, the Monaro has only travelled approximately 100 kilometres since it had a full, ground up restoration.
The HJ Monaro sedan is $175,000 and anyone interested in this classic Aussie muscle car can view the full listing here.
