1974 Holden HQ Belmont Ute – Todays Tempter

While HQs were built in huge numbers, it can be hard to find a good ute these days

While HQs were built in huge numbers, it’s increasingly hard to find a good ute as many enjoyed a full life as a workhorse on the tools, and many more met their end watching many sun sets in a rural paddock under a shady tree.

As time goes on, we seem to be seeing more of a divide between decaying neglected examples, and big-dollar trailer queens – but what’s left in between the two extremes?

Well how about this 1974 HQ Belmont Ute?

It’s got the ever-popular GTS grille, wheels and tiller, as well as a windscreen visor and tonneau cover.

Finished in Burgundy over black vinyl trim (with houndstooth inserts), the car looks more than presentable in the photos; and with the 253ci V8 and automatic transmission, would make an awesome weekend cruiser!

The interior looks like it’s been redone, and without details and information in the listing, we can’t be sure what else has been done to the car. It may not be 100% original, but it’s more than enough to put a smile on your face!

The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $27,990.
