1974 Holden Belmont – today’s tempter

Original panel van

Every now and then you come across an ad that makes you chuckle, and this is one.

According to the seller: “The Belmont is an entry level panel van from the factory. It is rare to find a panel van that has survived this long without being tortured by tradesman using it as a commercial vehicle or molested by wanna-be panel beaters trying to clone a Sandman. The car has not had a spanner on it.”

He or she has a point and goes on to say the only non-stock items are the exhaust and wheels.

Running a 202 inline six and three-speed column-shift manual, it claims a low 131,000km. We’re told it’s spent the last two decades in storage.

The first of two owners many years ago apparently did a closed-door respray from brown to blue.

Located in Byford WA, it’s a late HQ and is on the market at $45,000.
