1973 Jensen-Healey – today’s tempter

1973 Jensen-Healey – today's tempter

Though not as high-profile as some of its contemporaries, a Jensen-Healey stacks up as an attractive seventies British sports car.

As we note in a quick review of this model: “This car is all about being, simple, nimble and light. Jensen reportedly tried a few different powerplants before settling on this, the Lotus 907.

“It’s a twin overhead cam design, displacing 1973cc and running four valves per cylinder. That’s fairly high spec, given the build date.”

The four-cylinder engine is matched to a four-speed manual transmission.

Performance was good for the period, with the engine claiming 144hp, and a 0-60mph time of 7.8 sec.

This example has undergone an extensive restoration and would seem to be in near-showroom condition.

Located in NSW, it’s on the market for $40,000.
