Looks tidy
The Holden HQ series is a large-sized range of family and commercially oriented vehicles and Holdens most successfully selling model in the Aussie manufacturers 69 year history.
First released in July 1971, the HQ replaced the outgoing Holden HG, and stayed in production until October 1974.
Changes made over its predecessor were many, as the HQ was the first completely new design featuring a new body, chassis and suspension.
The HQ was made available to consumers in a number of different body styles that included a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, two-door coupe, two-door ute, two-door panel van and a two-door cab chassis.
Power was derived from a number of different motors the comprised a 2.8lt and 3.3lt inline six-cylinder or a 4.1lt, 5.0lt or 5.7lt V8.
These donks sent power to the HQs rear wheels via either a three- or four-speed manual or a three-speed automatic transmission.
This particular HQ is a ’73 Belmont ute and comes equipped with the 3.3lt inline six which is mated to the three-speed manual ‘box.
According to the seller, the HQ is in good, original condition and drives very well and also has the added benefit of being rust free.
The HQ is $12,500 and anybody interested in this Aussie classic can view the full listing here.
