1973 Ferrari 365 Daytona – today’s tempter

1973 Ferrari 365 Daytona

While several models of Ferrari were built under the 365 designation, the GTB/4 Daytona is among the most desirable thanks to its race connection.

As we pointed in a story on a similar car once owned by Elton John, “The 365 GTB/4 Daytona’s nameplate was given to it after Ferrari’s 1-2-3 finish at the 1967 Daytona 24hr; and can be pitched as Ferrari’s response to the Lamborghini Miura which debuted in 1966.
“The Daytona superseded the Miura as the fastest road car in the world, with its 4.4lt quad-cam V12 propelling the car to a top-speed of 175mph (282km/h).”

A right-hand-drive UK-delivered model, the Daytona runs a five-speed manual transmission.

The car was subjected to a comprehensive restoration, which was completed two years ago.

Oldtimer in Brisbane has it on the market at $1.8 million.
