One-owner GTV that’s been recently and beautifully restored.
Alfa Romeo’s famous little twin-cam GTVs were expensive when new, some $1300 more than a GTS 350 Monaro at the time; though they were targeted at very different markets.
In 1750 guise, the DOHC engine yielded more than 100kW and had enough poke to keep six-pot Monaros at bay, and even keep up with the new Ford Capri V6.
They were quite advanced for the time too, with all independent suspension, radial tyres, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Inside saw well-shaped seats, wood-grain dash, a full suite of instruments and a gloriously Italian wooden steering wheel.
The 2000 GTV arrived in 1971, with another power bump yielding 112kW and a 22% jump in torque. It gained bigger brakes, a limited-slip ‘diff and a few interior adjustments.
This 1973 GTV 2000 is an astounding one-owner car.
Finished in Piper Yellow over black leather interior; the body was recently restored by a “recognised Adelaide restoration company” and the interior has been fully re-trimmed.
It features the original Carello high-beam headlights and original Marini driver’s door mirror.
From the photos attached to the listing, the car is near faultless both outside and in.
If gorgeous Italian classics are your thing, this looks like a fantastic weekender or addition to any collection.
The car is based in South Australia, and is listed for $64,990.
