These still look good today
The De Tomaso Pantera is a two-door, mid-engined sports coupe built by the Italian manufacturer between 1971 and 1992.
Replacing the outgoing Mangusta, the Pantera was styled by Tom Tjaarda, who was working at Italian design house, Ghia, at the time.
The Pantera was only ever made available to customers as a two-door coupe, there was no convertible option.
Power was derived from a thumping 5.75lt (351ci) Cleveland V8, that De Tomaso sourced from the Ford Motor Company.
In the Pantera’s application, the Cleveland V8 produced 246kW (330hp), and this shove was sent to the Pantera’s rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
The Pantera tipped the scales at a relatively low 1417kg, which meant that, combined with the 246kW, the Italian sportscar was no slouch.
This particular Pantera is a ’72 model and, according to the seller, the vehicle has travelled an original and low 35,283 miles from new.
The seller adds that there is no rust anywhere on the Pantera and it comes with the owner’s manual and two sets of keys.
The Pantera is $109,000 and anyone interested in this classic ‘70s sportscar can view the full listing here.
