1971 XY FAIRMONT $300,000+ JACK BRABHAM SPECIAL
If you seek rarity, this is your car. |
This is the car that Jack drove. Brabham that is, his personal XY Falcon.
If you’re after rareness with motorsport royalty, this is the one. After retiring from racing Jack Brabham established Jack Brabham Ford in suburban Sydney.
Soon after he created this XY, dubbed the Jack Brabham Special of which 50 were made. These specials were optioned up Falcons and Fairmonts.
The additional paintwork was done at the Brabham Ford dealership along with a swag of performance parts and the “Jack Brabham Special” insignia was placed on the car.
Jack’s car is in Bronze Wine and has a factory 351 K Code engine, extractors, wind back sunroof and 8-track stereo tape player.
It has the original logbooks, matching number engine and is a special piece of Ford motoring history.
2010 ASTON MARTIN DB9

The British marque is celebrating its 110th anniversary and continues to roll out beautiful sports cars like this 2010 Aston Martin DB9 convertible. It has had one careful owner who no doubt has enjoyed each of its 77,296 kilometres.

The Touchtronic system opens and closes the roof automatically and importantly this car has a full Aston Martin service history.

1965 FORD MUSTANG
When Ford Oz announced the Mustang was going to be sold here some 51 years after its US debut, everyone thought the price of the old gals would fall over.
Well, that’s not the case as prices have held sway and even grown with some models. 1965 was the Mustang’s first full calendar year of production and this red convertible really looks the business.
I’ve had the pleasure of owning a couple of Stangs and they still grab me.
This one is said to be in beautiful nick and is a right hooker with a 289 V8 and auto box. And the roof is power operated. A great weekender.
1991 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SE
Want to feel like a VIP for the price of a small hatchback? Then I can tell you from experience, you won’t do better than a W126 S-Class Benz, which was the default car for diplomats, rock stars, VIPs and more.
Solid build, reliable as a hammer with the precision of a Swiss watch. This example was built in the final year of W126 production. The original service books confirm its odometer reading of 138,425km.
At the time the W126 was a tech, luxury and safety tour de force and the car all others were judged by. It still has exceptional grace and elegance and makes an ideal companion for interstate jaunts or weekend getaways.

1968 HOLDEN HK PREMIER
I enjoy the back story to cars and this is special. Firstly, it’s a one-off.
The seller had it for 30 years after buying it from the wife of the original owner, a GMH employee who ordered it to his spec.
It’s believed to be the only HK Premier with a Monaro dash, long-range fuel tank, built-in steering wheel lock and still functioning, vintage valve pull-out radio. It has always been garaged and shows 57,781 miles.
Up front is the original 186 motor and powerglide auto. Even the original window stickers are still intact. Both the exterior and interior look to be in outstanding condition. What a find and what a story.
