1971 Volkswagen Beetle – Todays Tempter

Australian-delivered 1.3lt Bug looks like an honest, affordable and reliable classic

From accomplished race car to a fashion icon to the elite; the humble VW Beetle changed what the car was to an entire generation.

Its engineering was simple and bulletproof, and its maintenance was equally as accessible for many new DIY mechanics. The Beetle was pivotal in its affordable ability to carry four people with ease and reliability.

Today, they remain as popular as ever with classic owners – with global appeal and no shortage of knowledge and parts support.

This 1971 Volkswagen Beetle Coupe is an Australian-delivered example in factory right-hand drive, and fitted with a 1300cc engine and four-speed manual.

The car is reportedly beautifully presented, highly original and very solid all round. Paint work is honest and nicely presented, and chrome remains in great condition. The red interior looks to be in fantastic condition, complimented by rear venetian blinds.

“Runs and drives flawlessly” says the seller.

The car is based in Queensland and is listed for $13,500.
