At one time the Premier was the flagship of the Holden fleet, often the default vehicle for company managers and government officials. I remember a mate’s Dad had one in gold.
It was very flash and we couldn’t wait to be taken for a spin in it. Premiers are highly sought by enthusiasts and collectors.
This beaut-looking HG is very original with matching-numbers and complete history including books. Up front is the trusty and lusty 186ci straight-six red motor tied to an auto trans.
This two-owner vehicle, finished in green with gold interior, (how Aussie can you get) has travelled just 115,000 miles from new. A loved Aussie classic that will be a delight to drive and turn heads when you show it too.
1999 FERRARI 550 – $299,990
If you insist on having a Ferrari, I still reckon it has to be red, it’s just traditional for me. But I can’t deny they look pretty schmick in yellow too. Legendary racer John Bowe owned a 550 and loved it, we featured his silver example back in 2013. This Australian-delivered 550 Maranello is unique, being a one-of-one. Powered by an ear-pleasing V12 tied to a gated six-speed manual gearbox, this front-engined beauty has only travelled 36,700 kilometres. I have been fortunate to have driven a few Ferraris over the years and everyone has made me feel pretty darn special. I can guarantee this one is no exception.
1972 JAGUAR E-TYPE III – $100,000
This award-winning, factory right-hand drive, late model E-Type has the big 5.3-litre V12 filling up the engine bay with an auto trans behind it, making for relaxed motorway motoring. It is being sold from long-term ownership (17 years) and in that time it travelled a mere 11,560 miles. Last year it was stripped back, any rust removed and resprayed. Back in 2007 the tan leather interior was done and in 2019 a new headliner fitted. Not only are you buying a genuine classic here, but this one has the workshop manual and a heap of spares as well. On seeing the E-Type Enzo Ferrari called it “the most beautiful car in the world”.
1990 VN COMMODORE – $25,990
When one of these buggers loomed in your mirror, there was mild panic. Holdens and Falcons were the staple diet of the constabulary when we made cars here, but nowadays they swan about in luxo burgers from Europe. Anyway, this ex Police Commodore, with the 3.8 V6 under the bonnet comes with authentic police lights, radar and radio all in working order, making it a terrific display car that’ll get people talking at car events. A truly unique find for collectors and enthusiasts. It would be fun to own and won’t break the bank. Here’s a chance to own a piece of Aussie motoring and Police history.
1996 JAGUAR XK8 – $36,990
‘This is a great weekender’ usually describes a house, but it’s true with this Jag. High performance in a luxury coupe with low klicks. And for the price you are getting a hell of a lot of car for your cash. Up front is a 4lt aluminium V8 tied to a five-speed auto with drive to the rear wheels. I assure you not only is the Jag a wonderful long-distance cruiser but it’s not too shabby when driven enthusiastically on winding roads either. And it is rather pleasing on the eye as well. An Australian-delivered car, it’s finished in Antigua Blue Pearl with contrasting oatmeal/antelope leather interior and with just 103,000 displayed on the clock.
