The Paul Bracq-designed Pagoda series of Benz coupes has become a valuable classic and attracts some fairly hefty prices.
Supported by an international owner group at SL113.org, the series had a reasonably long production life from 1963 to 1971. Over that time, 48,912 were made.
In a mini feature on the series, an owner notes: “My advice with these ones, since they’re particularly expensive with parts, is to buy the best one you can find. Go as much as you can afford – don’t try to buy a project and then spend all the money doing it up.”
This example is running the premium 2.8lt six with three-speed automatic transmission. An Australian-delivered car, it is said to have a full set of log books.
John Conroy in Brisbane has it on the market for $289,990.
