Handsome XW GT ute mock-up: Original six-cylinder motor and three-speed column manual
The XW arrived in 1969 as such a significant facelift that many mistook it for an all-new model rather than an updated XR/XT Falcon.
The basic architecture remained, but almost every panel was new; with split-lens tail lights, recessed rear window and the new “power mouth” grille design. The interior too was almost entirely redesigned.
The big news was the first appearance of the 351ci V8 which was now available as an option under various Falcons, subsequently birthing the GT-HO Phase I.
This 1970 XW Ute has been lovingly turned into a GT mock-up – as many Falcons did over history.
The listing indicates that it still bears its original and numbers-correct inline-six cylinder and three-speed column-shift manual.
Dipped in its factory diamond white, the car now wears a GT-style bonnet and XW GT gold stripe, cornered by five-slot wheels.
Overall, it looks very presentable outside and in, with factory blue bench seat and a nicely presented engine bay.
The car includes its original log books and spare keys, and is based in New South Wales.
Listed for $42,990 – you can check out the full listing here!
