1970 Ford Fairmont XW Wagon – Todays Tempter

Major restoration done and in reported concours condition

While early V8 Falcons represent big-buying these days, handsome six-cylinder XR-XYs can still be snapped up in the relative realm of affordability.

70s Aussie family rigs are also on the rise as people seek to attain a humble piece of Golden Era nostalgia for those weekend cruises, but could you blame them when faced with a sweet XW Fairmont wagon like this?

It’s a column-shift auto 1970 XW Fairmont with a fresh 3.6lt/221ci inline-six that’s recently undergone a major restoration by the current owners over the past ten years.

The car is in reported concours condition, presented in Polar White over its original and unrestored black vinyl trim with rare factory option dickey seat and driver’s side weather shield.

The car even comes with a period correct Esky in the boot, and a dash fan – we’d love to take this rig down the beach on a sunny day.

It’s a great looking thing that’s hard to fault both outside and in from the photos.

The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $40,000.
