1970 Dodge Challenger – Todays Tempter

After a muscle car? How about this no-expense spared 440ci big-block monster?

The E-body Dodge Challenger is one of the most quintessential American muscle cars ever; and if you’re looking for a car based on pure cubic-inches per dollar, US sports coupes often offer a more valuable proposition than our local Aussie hero cars.

Take this Challenger for example. Originally built December 1969 at Dodge’s Michigan plant, it originally rolled off the line as a 318ci two-barrel V8 in Bronze.

Today, after countless dollars spent, it presents as a newly painted black car over new black interior – with RT badging and emblems.

Underneath the shaker bonnet and scoop sits a fully-built 440ci big-block stoker motor with steel forged crank, H-Beam rods with ARP bolts, forged flat-top pistons, solid cam and lifters,  Edelbrock RPM head, 440 six-pack intake, MSD ignition and a host of other goodies.

All 605hp is transferred through a rebuilt four-speed with 11-inch Hemi clutch and Hurst Shifter, and a rebuilt DANA rear end with Positrac diff.

The car has new brakes front and rear, as well as rebuilt front suspension and new Hemi leaf springs (with Cal-Trac system) out back.

There’s a host of other new parts as well, including gas tank and sender and new interior wiring.

Overall, it’s a serious resto-mod package with all the grunt and power you could ever need in a weekend street car.

Listed for $87,990 (*or nearest offer), it looks like a formidable turn-key package that would surely be a talking point at your local cars and coffee.

The car is based in New South Wales, and you can check out the full listing here!
