1970 Chrysler Valiant VG – Todays Aussie Chrome Tempter

This looks very tidy

Released in March of 1970 and replacing the outgoing Chrysler Valiant VF, the Chrysler Valiant VG is a range of family oriented vehicles built by Chrysler Australia.

Like the VF before it, the VG Valiant was assembled at Chrysler’s Tonsley Park production plant in South Australia.

The VG Valiant was mainly an aesthetic update of its predecessor and featured both front and rear redesigns such as new headlights and taillights.

The VG also saw the introduction of Chrysler Australia’s locally made HEMI six cylinder engine.

Customers could choose to have their VG in a number of different body styles that included a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, two-door hardtop coupe and a two-door ute.

Power was derived from a range of motors that comprised a 3.5lt, 3.7lt and 4.0lt inline six-cylinder motor and a 5.2lt V8.

The shove from these collective engines was sent to the Valiant’s rear wheels via either a three-speed automatic or a three-speed manual transmission.

This particular VG Valiant is a 1970 four-door sedan and comes equipped with a 265ci HEMI six-pot and three-speed automatic transmission.

According to the seller, the VG has travelled an original 100,000 kilometres and is a pristine example of a well looked after Valiant.

The Valiant is $24,000 and anyone interested in this Aussie classic can view the full listing here.
