Trans-Atlantic muscle
The term ‘British muscle car’ is not one you’ll often trip over, however the Jensen Interceptor easily qualifies, albeit with an American V8 in the snout.
Chrysler power was chosen, with the 383ci (6.3lt) V8 providing enough grunt to make life interesting. When it came to transmissions, you had the choice of a four-speed manual or three-speed Torqueflite auto. The latter was by far the most popular choice.
Styling for the distinctive 2 + 2 coupe was by Carrozzeria Touring of italy, with a distinctive wrap-around rear window – that was a design cue pioneered in an earlier Jensen, the 1959 541R.
This 1969 car claims a good history and is based in South Australia. It’s up for auction with Collecting Cars.
