1968 Plymouth Satellite – Todays American Tempter

Sweet as a nut

Now here’s something a bit out of left field, when was the last time you saw a second generation Plymouth Satellite knocking about?

Released in 1967, the large-sized, family oriented vehicle built by Chrysler was quite a popular car in its day, and stayed in production until 1970, before being replaced by the third generation of the Satellite.

Customers could choose to have their Satellite in a number of different body styles that comprised a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, two-door hardtop and a two-door convertible.

Power was derived from a wide range of engines that included a 4.5lt, 5.2lt, 5.9lt, 6.3lt, 7.0lt and 7.2lt V8.

The oomph from these collective powerplants was sent to the Satellite’s rear wheels via either a three or four-speed manual or a three-speed automatic transmission.

This particular Plymouth Satellite is a ’68 model two-door hardtop and, according to the seller, the vehicle has undergone a full nut-and-bolt restoration to exacting standards.

The seller adds that the Plymouth is in incredible, like-new condition and cannot be faulted.

The Satellite is $79,000 and anyone interested in this ‘Merican classic can view the full listing here.
