There was no doubt that the introduction of the Holden Monaro introduced a new level of glamour to local car-making.
According to our feature on this series: “Holden’s response to the Falcon GT became an instant classic and a Bathurst winner. Australians during the 1960s acquired a taste for glamorous cars but didn’t have one of their own until 1968 when Holden introduced the Monaro.
“It was based on the HK sedan, which in January of that year brought a handsome change to the Holden range with its flared wheel arches, ‘hipped’ rear quarters and plenty of glass.”
This car is sunning the 327 V8 with four-speed manual transmission. What makes it exception is its original unrestored condition. The seller says: “In totally factory original condition, this Bright Blue Metallic HK 327 Monaro is presented in day one maintained unrestored condition with full documentation including log books and a genuine 44,623 miles on the clock.”
