Seller states 90% complete: Rebuilt 302, new paint + upholstery
A full tear-down rebuild takes a lot of time, money and effort – though taking on a project part way through can also lead to its own headaches.
Unknown missing bits, unforeseen issues – if you’re not clear on exactly what the car needs, you run the risk of quickly going over budget should nasty surprises rear their ugly head.
However, if you do your due diligence, it can also be incredibly fruitful.
You still get a chance to get your hands dirty, put something together, and end up with a nice cruiser you can be proud of – but possibly skip on some of the hard (and expensive) work like engine rebuilds and paint etc.
This 1968 ZB Ford Fairlane looks to be an almost-finished project. The seller calls it “90% complete” with a freshly rebuilt 302 V8, new respray, new upholstery and new dash.
Externally, all the trim and badging looks to be there, and the new interior looks fantastic.
The steering wheel looks a little faded, and you may need to chase some things down for the interior, but overall it looks like it could be a great project to finish off.
We would advise you have a good chat to the owner about what is left to be done, but most of the hard yards look well out of the way – and a listed price of $27,500 seems fair depending on what is left to finish off.
The car has covered just 750kms since the rebuild and is based in New South Wales.
