1968 Ford Mustang GT – Todays Tempter

Classic Highland Green Mustang in good condition throughout: 302, auto, power steering and disc brakes

The Ford Mustang was an instant hit that quickly transcended into a lasting icon. It remains the perennial classic car, invented the Pony car movement and made personal sports motoring a truly aspirational thing in America’s post-war optimism of the 60s.

Famously receiving 22,000 factory orders on launch day with 400,000 sold in its first year, and almost 1.3 million produced in the first three years of manufacturing; the Mustang remains a popular classic car choice for its plentiful parts and knowledge support.

Local examples are plentiful too, so if you’re after a neat weekend classic to cruise in, they’re a popular, and smart place to start looking.

This 1968 example looks like a solid running example.

Specified with the 302ci V8 and three-speed automatic, the seller states that the car is standard with upgraded power steering and disc brakes for added ease of driving.

Mechanically, the car is said to be very sound and is cornered by new tyres.

The vinyl roof-clad Highland Green example appears to be highly optioned from factory too, wearing the GT pack which could be added to any 302 or 390-optioned vehicle. The GT pack included grille-mounted fog lights, dual exhaust, C-stripe, heavy duty suspension and GT wheels.

From what we can see of the Parchment interior, it looks to be well kept with a clean dash and no discernible tears or rips. A steering wheel cover and wool seat covers are fitted for protection however.

The Mustang is based in New South Wales and is listed for a negotiable $43,500.
