While ford aimed at the volume family market with its MkII Cortina series, it nevertheless enjoyed a spectacular motor-sport career.
In a feature on a Mk2 Lotus variant, we noted: “1966 was the changeover year for the Cortina, and effectively the last of the series expected to take on a serious competition role. That particular torch was eventually handed over to the smaller and more nimble Escort range, again with a huge amount of initial success.”
A 440 was towards the upper end of the range for the time and this car has been listed as a GT tribute.
It runs a crossflow 1600 inline-four with Weber carburettor and five-speed manual gearbox.
This example is with Pennant Hills Auto Traders, priced at $31,000.
