Simple and fun classic
We seem to have a few MkII Cortinas for sale on our site at the moment and, if this one is any indication, they represent pretty good value.
It’s not often you can say you can get a good solid classic car for under $10k, but with this model you can.
Built from 1966 through to 1970, they were available in a number of trim levels and this, the 440, is one of the more upmarket ones for the day.
Several engines were offered in the series – mostly straight fours from 1.2 to 1.6lt, though they were made with the V6 Essex that was also used in the Capri.
This car lists the 1.6 and we assume it’s the Crossflow rather than the rally-bred twin-cam. The latter would cost a fair bit more. In this case it’s backed up by a four-speed manual transmission.
These are a light and fun car that should be very easy to look after.
The only caution with this one is there is no roadworthy certificate offered, so you’d need to check it carefully.
It’s priced at $9000 and is available in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
