There has always been enormous appeal in having a large engine in a small car, particularly one as capable as the legendary MGB series.
In a feature on the later GT variant, we noted: “Even with a more robust casting than the original GM block, the Rover V8 remained lighter by almost 20kg than the all-iron MGB four-cylinder. Using low-compression heads restricted output to a very timid 102kW, however it took creative tuners no time at all to be extracting 130-150kW from the 3.5-litre engine.”
The seller of this car says the project is well-advanced, with much of the bodywork done.
Included are two motors: a 3.5lt and 4.0lt, along with a five-speed LT77 transmission.
Located in Falcon (WA) it’s on the market at $18,000.
