The Holden HR is a full-sized family car built by the Iron Lion between April 1966 and January 1968.
Replacing the outgoing HD, the HK, while being based off the same platform and its predecessor, was cosmetically a vastly different car.
This was thanks to a redesigned roofline, new front grille, larger rear window and new headlights.
Changes were also made to the cars chassis, with the HK receiving a revised ball-joint front suspension and a wider front track.
The HR could be had in a number of different body styles that included a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, two-door ute and a two-door panel van.
Power came from a range of inline six-cylinder donks that comprised a 2.6lt, 3.0lt, 3.2lt and a 3.8lt, and the shove from these motors was sent to the rear wheels via either a three or four-speed manual or a two-speed automatic transmission.
Although the HR had a very short production lifespan, it was a highly successful model for Holden, with over 252,000 vehicles being built in just 21 months.
This particular HR is a ’67 ute and, according to the seller, the vehicle has travelled 96,000 miles from new.
The seller adds that the HR has a 202ci inline six under the bonnet and it’s mated to a five-speed Celica manual.
