1973 FORD XA GT RPO 83 HARDTOP

The fate of Ford’s Phase 4 Falcon GT-HO is well documented, but the story of how Ford made use of its surplus Phase 4 bits has created an almost accidental hero car of its own merit. With just 250 XA GT RPO 83s produced in total (130 sedans and 120 hardtops) this example is a jewel having had a nut-and-bolt, bare-metal concours rebuild undertaken under the late Neil Thompson of Grand Tourer Restorations. The Bertone-designed, two-door, two-seat Montreal was the Alfa Romeo flagship. Although it looked like a mid-engined Italian sports car, the 2.6lt V8 was in its snout. It also holds an Alfa Romeo Certificato Di Origine, proving its authenticity, a spare tyre, jack, and tool kit

1964 ROVER P5 COUPE

Coupe variants had a lower roofline and more rakish profile, for a touch of elegance without compromising comfort. 1981 PORSCHE 928S

Porsche’s new flagship was a break in tradition, being their first V8 and front engined at that. It had a galvanised steel body, with alloy doors, front guards and bonnet to save weight. An Australian-delivered car, a previous owner from 2010 to 2023 spent around $25,000 on it. The current owner, a 928 enthusiast has further improved it ensuring it runs and drives just like a 928 should. It presents well with minor duco blemishes and the interior is unmarked, with minor dash pad cracking around one air vent.

Originally owned in rural NSW it has always been maintained by Porsche specialists and has just 145,082km on the clock. It has been fitted with Bilstein shocks and coil overs but remains pretty much standard and has been used sparingly this past decade. Like any old Porsche 911, it’s a fair bet it’ll grow in value over time.
