Survivor car in complete and running condition
Chrysler’s VC Valiant arrived in 1966 with all new looks, but the same old underpinnings.
Buyers, however, now had more options in specifying their cars – with the V8 newly available inside Regal-trimmed wagons.
The standard engine was still the 3.7lt inline-six – capable of 108kW and usually mated to the three-speed synchromesh manual.
This ’66 VC Valiant Wagon is fitted with the six-banger and optioned with an automatic transmission.
It’s an unrestored survivor, and presents with all the honest scars of life you’d expect.
It is in running condition however, with a rebuilt carburettor and functioning automatic and drum brakes.
The interior is complete, and looks to be in fair condition. It’s free of visible tear and wear, but does look a little sun-faded.
The seller points out that there is a little rust on the bottom of the tailgate (expected), and the driver’s seat needs its springs redone. Small matters in the grand scheme of things.
It would take a fair bit of elbow grease to bring back the lustre, but if you’re after an honest survivor – this could be it!
The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $16,500.
