1965 Jaguar E-type – today’s tempter

Brit classic

Alongside the Mini, the E-type is arguably the most famous shape to come out of a British car maker and is rightly considered one of the most beautiful ever made.

However the beauty was more than skin-deep. In a feature on the model we noted: “The E-type was really like nothing else before it boasting power-assisted disc brakes, (in-board rears) rack and pinion steering, rear independent suspension torsion bars at the front and the employment of racing design principles such as having a spaceframe carrying the engine, front suspension and front bodywork.”

This coupe is running the 4.2lt inline six with four-speed manual transmission.

It’s with the Healey Factory in Melbourne, priced at $175,000.
