Originally a Holden executive car: Lots of original Nasco options, excellent condition with engine and gearbox rebuilt
The EH Holden is remembered as one of the more pivotal cars for the young Australian brand, and arguably one of the most significant new models since the original 48-215.
Today, it represents what many love about classic locally-made cars: it’s simple and robust whilst being easy to maintain and drive.
Chassis-wise, it was largely an evolution of the outgoing EJ, however this was the model that debuted the new line of ‘Red’ motors which came in the low-comp 149ci, the standard 149ci, or the big 179ci.
With an expansive range comprising of sedans, station wagons, utilities and panel vans; the EH was a hit with buyers, posting over 250,000 sales in the first 18 months – and remains the fastest selling Australian car of all time.
This 1964 EH sedan comes to market as a very well-preserved piece of the period, originally registered to Holden as an executive car.
The EH Special’s body is in good condition throughout with reportedly no rust to be found. It has been extremely well-optioned from the factory with a swathe of original Nasco pieces.
The seller states that the humble EH is in excellent condition throughout and maintained to a high standard with the gearbox having been rebuilt recently, as well as the brakes reconditioned. The 179ci six-cylinder engine was rebuilt 9,000 miles ago.
It looks like a fantastic example of its kind, and is said to still bear its original boot mat, service manual and is accompanied by lots of historical paperwork – according to the seller.
The EH is based in South Australia, and is listed for $48,500.
