Brit V8
Daimler’s Dart – later renamed the SP250 after a complaint from Dodge – harks back to the glory days of fiberglass-bodied sports cars.
The elegant British coupe sat on a steel chassis and reveled in a 2.5lt V8 created specifically for the car and later used in the saloon range.
The transmission was a four-speed manual, some with overdrive.
Locally, it’s famous for winning a 1962 six-hour race at Bathurst in the hands of the Geoghegan brothers.
This example is a restomod with a considerable amount of work, including having the transmission upgraded to a five-speed Mazda RX-7 unit.
It’s with Oldtimer in Queensland, priced at $84,950.
