You can only imagine the response to the Corvette Sting Ray when it first launched, particularly with the split rear window on the first version of the C2. And now? It’s a shape that gets plenty of attention and admiration in hardtop or roadster form.
As one of our online features notes: “The original Sting Ray was a low, wide open-topped projectile with a knife-edge belt-line and ‘pods’ above each wheel. The air-intake below the bumper and massive bonnet vents hinted that this car was intended to carry a very large and powerful engine.”
