1961 Holden FB – Todays Tempter

Fantastic finned Aussie classic: outstanding condition in very original specification

Holden’s FB arrived shortly before Ford’s breakout XK Falcon.

Design wise, the rear was a further evolution of the FC’s fins while the whole body was extended by 140mm and supported by heavier springs up front and widened rear leafs with upgraded brakes.

The FB was a significant investment for Holden who developed the new model over three years.

Body styles included Standard and Special sedans and station wagons, as well as a ute and panel van.

All cars were fitted with a 132ci inline-six from factory, coupled to either a three-speed manual or optional automatic.

This 1961 FB Holden presents in fantastic and faithful condition throughout.

The exterior paint, chrome and embellishments look new, as does the interior, while the engine bay presents a little more honest to its age.

It’s a true finned aussie classic that looks to have been very well cared for and loved. As a bonus, the listing states that some “hard to find” spares will also be included in the sale.

It’s based in Victoria and is listed for $28,000 with seemingly little else to spend on.
