1959 JAGUAR XK150 – today’s tempter

Classic roadster

Just 209 of these exquisite Jag XK150 DHCs were built between 1957 and 1960, and the last model to use the body on chassis method before moving to the new construction style of semi-monocoque, debuting on the E-Type.

Powering the XK150 is the marque’s 3.8-litre six fed by twin SU carbys. Tied to it is a three-speed auto. The XK150 sports power assisted discs up front and a disc brake rear end. It was a lively performer due to its independent front and live axle rear suspension.

This Jag, in Old English White with red leather interior, black soft top and chrome wire wheels, had a body off resto in the early 1990s and professionally converted to right-hand drive. After another resto by specialist Mike Roddy, it won gold at the 2018 Jag concours and is for sale at $265,000.
