Super tidy
The Holden FC is a range of medium-sized family and commercially oriented vehicles built by GMH between May 1958 and January 1960.
Replacing the outgoing Holden FE, the FC brought with it mostly minor cosmetic and mechanical updates over its predecessor such as a redesigned front grille, a revised interior, revised suspension, steering, brakes and a change to the gear change linkages.
Power was derived from the same 2.2lt (132ci) inline six-cylinder motor that was found in the FE, however, the FCs motor had a revised camshaft and compression ratio which increased power to 54kW (72hp).
The inline six sent its shove to the FCs rear wheels via a column-mounted, three-speed manual transmission.
The FC could be had in a number of different body styles that comprised a four-doors sedan, five-door wagon, two-door ute and a two-door panel van.
The FC was a highly successful model for GMH, with over 191,000 models being produced in its 20 months of existence.
This particular FC is a ’58 model ute and, according to the seller, the vehicle has recently undergone a full restoration.
The FC ute is $40,000 and anyone interested in this classic Aussie automobile can view the full listing here.
