1958 Edsel Pacer – Auction Action

American rarity

Named in honour of Henry Ford’s son the company had high expectations for the Edsel line-up.

Ford spent 10 years and $250 million on the project which tanked with disastrously low sales.

Today Edsels are slightly more popular and this Pacer in blue and white has a V8 up front, along with power steering and brakes, whitewall tyres, wheels covers and a pushbutton radio.

It looks like a bargain.

Sold through Mecum for Au$30,000.
