While a ‘small’ saloon car by Jaguar standards, the Mark 1 had a huge impacto on the image and future of its parent company.
In a brief profile of the Mk1, DM Historic notes: “First introduced at Earl’s Court in October 1955, the MK1 immediately took centre stage, drawing all of the attention from attendees. It represented a change in the design and manufacturing processes of this world-renowned carmaker. It was aimed at a new type of buyer too.”
This car is running the 2.4lt variation of the DOHC inline six, matched to a four-speed manual with overdrive.
It’s believed to have been an Australian-delivered example.
The Healey Factory in Melbourne has it on the market for $32,000.
