Possibly the only two FJs in the United States, for sale in Washington state
A pair of extremely well-travelled Aussies is in need of new homes in the United States.
On offer in Oroville Washington State, the 1955 and 1956 Holden FJ utes are listed as a pair, and are for sale on the American website Craigslist.
As for the how the two humble FJ utes found themselves stateside, the listing indicates that the seller exported them there himself; “disassembled for shipping by me [the seller] in Coloundra, Queensland, Australia years ago”. The seller reportedly spent over US$7000 (AU$10,100) shipping the two utes to the United States.

The 1955 FJ is a runner and driver, though visibly in need of a tidy-up. And the 1956 is mounted on the rotisserie, patiently awaiting its rebuild.
The seller has many spare and new parts to include in the sale, as well as both cars and even the rotisserie; both cars were complete when purchased.
It’s believed by the seller that these two are the only two Holden FJs in the United States.
Both are right-hand drive, the 1955 has a 215 Gray Motor in it with cam, headers, duel offenhauser intake manifolds and carbs.
The seller also has an extra door, bonnet and grill parts, spare transmission, new rocker panel kit, new tail gate skin, complete rubber kit and a lot of other miscellaneous parts.
It’s all listed for US$18,000, or AU$26,000 converted at the current exchange rate; both cars have clean Washington titles to their name.
Are there any Aussie abroad, or even American readers out there that would take up the challenge of preserving these two outback workhorses?
We love seeing how far and wide some of our local cars have spread across the globe. If you’ve got a piece of Aussie iron abroad, we’d love to hear from you!
