600-lot FoMoCo memorabilia collection crosses the block, fetching huge numbers
For the memorabilia fanatics: one of the most significant and prolific FoMoCo collections crossed the block recently at Mecum’s Indy auction.
Steven Juliano’s Ford-themed collection spanning both cars and countless rare pieces of collectibles of every form, was unmatched; having spent half of his life amassing this amazing collection.
From cufflinks to rare dealership signs, the Steven Juliano Estate collection sold through Mecums represents over 30 years of artful and focused pursuit.
One of the biggest lots of the night (literally) was a 1950 Ford Dealer sign that measured 4.25 metres x 4.25 metres in size.
In original condition, it fetched a whopping AU$80,000.
Another massive Dodge Challenger paper poster, a unique former dealership display, brought in AU$64,775.
A Plymouth Highway Billboard sold for AU$24,700.
At the more ‘affordable’ end of things, a Road Runner stand-up cutout topped out at AU$12,350.
It wasn’t just uber rare memorabilia that graced Juliano’s collection either; boasting a number of extremely rare vehicles, many of which went through the same auction.
A 1967 Shelby 427 S/C Cobra was the highest achiever, crossing the block to the tune of AU$4 million.
His ’64 Shelby 289 Cobra followed for AU$2.5 million, and a ’66 Shelby 427 Cobra for AU$3.4 million.
Out of four of his Shelby Cobras that were offered up for auction, just one failed to sell: a 1965 Shelby Factory Stage III 289 Cobra ‘Dragonsnake’; a fully-prepped drag-car.
