2002 HSV Coupe GTO - today's tempter
Near enough to alongside the relaunch of the Monaro series, HSV was in on the act with its much-enhanced Coupe version.
Power is provided by warmed-up 5.7lt V8 claiming 255kW (342hp) in this form and driving through a four-speed automatic transmission.
As Street Machine mag points out in a feature on the series: "When Holden Special Vehicles – the hot rod arm of Holden – released its high-performance variants in 2001, there wasn’t a Monaro badge to be seen. Due to trademark conflicts between the two entities, the HSV two-doors were referred to as HSV Coupes, available in either GTO or top-dog GTS spec."
This example claims 56,000km and is with the Healey Factory in Melbourne, priced at $75,000.
