The perfect summer car: Rare specification, low mileage and in fantastic condition
The Alfa Romeo enduring Spider has long been a mainstay of classic Alfa collecting: produced from 1966 all the way up to 1993 with only minor visual and mechanical changes throughout its near-30 years of production.
The first generation ‘round tail’ cars were succeeded in 1970 with more modern "Kamm tail" along with various subtle updates to exterior trim and inside the cabin.
This 1971 Spider 1750 Veloce represents one of just 141 factory right-hand drive built ‘Kamm tail’ 1750 Veloces built from 1969 to 1971; with history from its originally delivery (July 1971) in the UK.
The factory Ivory-over-red Spider was imported to Australia before 1989 and has since been lovingly cared for in various long-term collections; receiving new paint, chrome, interior and soft top in its life.
The current owner purchased the car in mid-2018, with an odemeter reading just 58,604 miles at the time. The owner promptly overhauled the brake calipers, master cylinder, new gearbox and clutch.
Today, the car is reluctantly offered for sale, with just 59,383 miles and presents beautifully both outside and in.
It bears the 1.8lt twin cam four-cylinder coupled to a manual gearbox, and looks like the perfect car to cruise in this summer.
The sale is accompanied by an Alfa Romeo Certificato Di Origine file, as well as recent service receipts and a spare wheel.
It’s a true red-blooded Italian classic roadster; and is on offer for $49,950.
