Motorclassica 2015

This year's Motorclassica is set to feature its largest-ever number of car manufacturer displays when its doors opens in Melbourne across the October 23-25 weekend.

Held at Carlton's historic Royal Exhibition Buliding, 12 confirmed car manufacturers will be displaying a range of all-new and current models, as well as honouring those from the past.

Marques returning this year will be Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Porsche, Maserati, Morgan and Caterham. Four newcomer brands joining this year will be Ferrari, Mini, BMW and Citroen, with the latter two planning their own anniversary celebrations.

BMW will be honouring 40 years of its successful 3-series and Citroen will be marking 60 years since the launch of its revolutionary DS model.

Motorclassica Event Director, Paul Mathers, said, "Year upon year, Motorclassica continues to attract key prestige and performance marques, simply because it provides a credible platform for them to celebrate their unique heritage and talk to an informed and engaged audience whose interest and enthusiasm goes beyond cars simply being transport to get from ‘A to B’."

Along with an expected 150 cars and motorcycles on display inside the historic Royal Exhibition Building, plus a further 400 vehicles expected over the weekend to feature outside in the 'Club Sandwich', the main theme for this year's event will be a tribute to 50 years of the Supercar.

Motorclassica opens to the public on Friday 23 October, until Sunday 25 October.
