2014 Mille Miglia

Jaguar Heritage Racing has announced a star-studded line-up of famous names to drive the gruelling Mille Miglia event, competing in ten of the most celebrated Jaguars from the 1950s. Drivers include household names from motor sport, music, stage, screen and fashion, to participate in a selection of Jaguar XKs, C-Types and one D-Type in the world-renowned classic car rally.

Held over 1000 miles from Brescia in Northern Italy, to Rome, than back to Brescia, Millie Miglia was first held in 1927 - then staged periodically over the following 30 years - and has been known as the world's greatest road race. The historical and demanding event has attracted the world’s greatest drivers, along with hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of the world’s greatest classic cars.

Heading Jaguar's line-up of famous faces this year will be former Le Mans and Formula 1 driver - and current Sky F1 TV commentator - Martin Brundle and fellow ex-Formula 1 racer Bruno Senna. The two motor racing greats will share the famous 'Long Nose' Jaguar D-Type, as the model also celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2014.

Jaguar collector and classic car enthusiast Jay Leno will drive the ex-Sir James Scott-Douglas 1951 Jaguar XK 120 roadster. Another 1951 XK 120 roadster - the ex-Duncan Hamilton racer registered LXF 731 - will be shared by husband and wife team, Elliot and Erin Gleave. Elliot is better known as British musician Example.

Multiple award-winning British actor Jeremy Irons will drive the ex-Jim Swift racing XK120 roadster, while Scottish singer and songwriter Amy Macdonald will take the wheel of an XK140, once owned by British racing driver David Hobbs.

Jaguar Vehicle Integrity Chief Engineer Mike Cross will drive the ex-Stirling Moss Monthlery record-breaking XK120 Coupe, while author David Blakeley and model-turned-TV presenter Jodie Kidd will share a XK120, which was driven by Oscar-winning actor Daniel-Day Lewis in last year's event.

Jaguar Heritage Racing is also entering three famous C-Type racing cars, to be driven by celebrities including AC/DC frontman and car afficionado, Brian Johnson. Ex-Jaguar Le Mans 24 Hours race winner Andy Wallace will drive the Jaguar C-type which won the 1952 Reims Grand Prix driven by Formula 1 legend, Sir Stirling Moss.

Jaguar will publish live updates throughout the event on its facebook and twitter pages.
