We've done a fair bit of car shipping over the years and it's not all that often you come across a genuinely smart innovation.
The latest is a new removable in-container racking and support system, made entirely of steel. A company called Sea Go International is responsible and says it has a few significant advantages over a typical timber method. Using a hand-operated winch system eliminates the need for fork lifts and possible damage moving cars.
From a car owner's point of view, it has a good claim to being far more secure and safe, while costing less to use. It fits in any container and is re-usable (so your green mates will be happy). The stacking design allows for more room for parts and also the flexibility of mixed loads including bikes or boats, plus it's winning some friends in the OH&S industry.
