2013 Euroa Show & Shine
When Uncle Phil arrived back from the 2013 Euroa Show and Shine he reckoned it was one of the better car shows he’s been to recently. That’s high praise from Phil who gets to most of the top events. The show is staged in the picturesque Seven Creeks Park at Euroa in Victoria’s north-east. This year’s event, held on October 6, attracted more than 10,000 visitors to view the 1057 vehicles on display.
A great line-up of vintage and veteran models shared the field with muscle cars as well as historic motor bikes and trucks and tractors. Entries were judged by 45 experts who awarded 90 trophies on the day.
The exotic hardware on show was backed up by miniature train rides, dodgem cars, a jumping castle, face painting and food stalls. There was live music as well. And helicopter rides. No surprise then that Phil saw a lot of family groups enjoying a good day out in a great setting.
When pressed to nominate his favourite among the many gems on display Phil hesitated for a moment, almost going for one of the well-prepared trucks in the line-up, before settling on the red ’50 Caddy. "It looked just right," said Phil, "It hadn’t been overdone; just enough minor modifications had been carried out to make it a really nice cruiser."
If you missed out this time Uncle Phil reckons you should add the Euroa Show and Shine to your ‘must do’ list for 2014.
