For sale is a very original 1957 Ford Customline V8 in Raven Black over Colonial White with Black and Yellow trim still wearing the factory plastic protective covering and running the matching numbers 272 ci OHV - 2V V8. For sale from Broadford, Victoria.
The 1950s saw the beginnings of rock and roll with Elvis Presley, sideburns, Hoola hoops and the rise in popularity of the drive in movies. It also saw the production of some classic motor cars including Ford's Customline. In 1957, the Customline model slotted between the Fairlane and the base model Mainline and was offered as a Tudor and Fordor sedan body and as a pillarless Customline Victoria 2-door hardtop.
A big family cruiser, the Customline Fordor sedan featured an unique bodyside moulding, bright hubcaps and interior features considered a luxury in its price class: two sunvisors; armrests front and rear; rear passenger assist straps mounted on the B pillars; and a choice of vinyl interior trims.
Powered by the original overhead valve Y-block V8, 12 volt electrics and the Fordomatic automatic transmission option, for sale is a genuine unrestored maintained example of the 1957 Ford Customline Sedan.
This particular Customline was manufactured in Geelong, Victoria. The Customline was purchased by the current owner in 2016 from the original owner who had used the car early on as a tow vehicle before shedding the Customline for many years.
The current owner has fully rebuilt the driveline since purchase including rebuilding the original engine. The original oil bath aircleaner, original Ford windscreen washer reservoir and even the original V8 Ford stickers on the rocker covers are present and accounted for. The owner has replaced the battery, reconditioned the radiator and fitted extractors.
The interior features the original trim still with the original plastic protective door covering, original vinyl flooring, dash, steering wheel and a super rare heater under the passenger side dash. The Customline is also fitted with the original working valve radio and clock.
Open the boot and the original boot mat, spare wheel fitted and factory tools are all still in their place.
The Customline is riding on new White walled antique tyres with factory chrome hub caps.
For sale from Broadford, Victoria. (Ref. 6430)
And if you like we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
