There's mixed news for both buyers and sellers with these local hero cars.

Ford Falcon EB-EL GT/XR8/Sprint 1992-98

A couple of high-priced cars pushed the EL GT average above $50,000 for the first time in 20 years, but they and the earlier EB GT remain hard cars to sell.

The XR8 Sprint which delivers GT performance without the fibreglass frills is up a little and exceptional survivors may still reach $30,000.

Speculators have noticed a spike in asking prices for historically-significant EB S-Pack V8s and hopefully the few remaining cars will be preserved.

ED-EL XR8s are getting harder to find and there can be a $5000 price difference between cars of quite similar quality, so view a few.

Later EL versions have more features than the ED for similar money.
